Approval Documents Required in Customs Declaration
for Imports of Special Commodities

Food products | Pre-packaged Food Labelling | Prior to imports of pre-packaged food products, the importer or agent should apply to the designated inspection and quarantine authorities for an inspection by presenting samples of the Chinese labels of the food products and the documentary proofs of the contents specified therein together with a letter of undertaking from the enterprise concerned. The designated inspection and quarantine authorities should review the format of the labels, and inspect specifically the batches selected through on-site inspection and label examination. | The designated inspection and quarantine authorities will, upon verification of the related documents, release the imported pre-packaged food products not selected for inspection on the basis of the letter of undertaking issued by the importer or agent. |
Cosmetics | Consignee of imported cosmetics should apply for record filing with the inspection and quarantine authorities at its place of business registration by submitting paper documents as well as electronic information through the Registration Systems of Imported Food and Cosmetic Importers and Exporters (http://ire.eciq.cn).
