Following the 2018 restructuring of the ministries and commissions directly under the State Council, the former China Food and Drug Administration was dissolved and its supervisory role split between the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Enquiries relating to food standards and supervision can now be made via the SAMR website (samr.saic.gov.cn). Interested parties may also access the NMPA website (www.nmpa.gov.cn) for information relating to the implementation of various policies, as well as for details of the required supervisory measures for cosmetics, drugs and medical equipment.
