Trade between Changsha and Hong Kong (2012, Jan-Sept 2013)

Hong Kong is an important trade partner of Changsha. In 2012, imports and exports between Changsha and Hong Kong amounted to US$774 million, up 89.3% year-on-year, and Hong Kong was the third largest trade partner of Changsha. Of this, exports made up the bulk, topping US$769 million (+92.3%), while imports reached US$5 million (-44.2%).

Since the beginning of the year, trade between Changsha and Hong Kong has developed on fast track. Up to September, imports and exports between Changsha and Hong Kong reached US$773 million, up 55.3% year-on-year, of which exports amounted to US$764 million (+54.6%), and imports were valued at US$9 million (+141.4%).

The list of key enterprises engaged in trade between Changsha and Hong Kong includes Lens Technology, Hunan New Wellful Co Ltd, China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co Ltd and JTouch (Changsha). The main exports (re-exports) from Changsha to Hong Kong are machinery and electronic products, new- and high-tech products, parts for automated data processing equipment, agricultural products, cigarettes and printed circuits. Products imported from Hong Kong include mainly machinery and electronic products, new- and high-tech products, TV, radio, and parts and accessories for wireless equipment.
