General Introduction
Dandong lies on the Southeastern boundary of the Liaoning Province. It is a border city facing North Korea across the Yalu River.
Dandong is designated as a regional hub in MOFCOM’s development plan (2015-2020) of distributive trade and logistics. It is linked with other parts of the province and country by highways and railways. While Dandong is acting as a major land passage between China and North Korea through the Friendship Bridge across Yalu River, the Langtou International Airport offers flight services to major cities in China and Seoul in South Korea.
Dandong has developed an industrial sector comprising auto parts, paper making, garments, instruments, electronics and boron chemicals. Shuguang Automotive Corp and Dandong Chemical Fiber Corp are examples of top industrial enterprises of these industries in the city.
Benefiting from an advantageous geographic location and Dandong's border cooperation policy, Dandong has also developed a strong logistics industry.
