General Introduction

Daxing'anling, is the northernmost prefecture in the Heilongjiang Province and China. Covering an area of 84,600 sq kilometres, Daxing'anling has the largest forest area in Heilongjiang.

Transportation in Daxing'anling mainly relies on the railways, which connect the prefecture with Harbin, Beijing, Tianjin and other cities in China.

Forestry is a pillar of the prefecture's primary industry. Major products include wood products and agricultural products.

Industrial development in Daxing'anling lags behind that of other cities in the Heilongjiang Province. Two major pillar industries are mining and wood processing. Other industries include coal dressing and agricultural products processing. Leading enterprises are Daxing'anling Forest Group and Beiqishen Green Industrial Group.
