General Introduction

Ganzhou is located in the southern part of the Jiangxi Province. It is the largest prefecture level city in Jiangxi, covering an area of 39,400 sq km.

Ganzhou is designated as a regional hub in MOFCOM’s development plan (2015-2020) of distributive trade and logistics. It can be easily reached by a number of State Highways and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway that runs through the city. Ganzhou Huangjin Airport, close to Ganzhou’s downtown, operates daily flights to Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Nanchang.

Due to abundant tungsten and rare earth resources in Ganzhou, it is reputed as the "capital of tungsten" and the "capital of rare earth" in China.

The industry sector is the main engine to Ganzhou’s economic growth, accounting for 37% of the GDP in 2015. Metallurgy and new materials, non-metal product processing, machinery, food manufacturing, textile and electronics are the dominant industries in the city.

Thanks to its abundant tungsten and rare earth resources, Ganzhou has been home to large industrial enterprises specializing in tungsten and rare earth products, such as Ganzhou Huamao Tungsten Materials and Ganzhou Cobalt & Tungsten.
