Guangdong Manufacturing PMI (2016/05)

Guangdong Manufacturing PMI stayed above the 50-mark for two consecutive months in May 2016 after a further rise of 0.1 percentage point to 50.7 in the month. The indexes of output and raw materials inventories dropped in May, while the indexes of new orders stabilized, and the index of employment and supplier deliveries increased.

Note: The Guangdong manufacturing PMI is a composite index based on the diffusion indexes for the five major components: output, new orders, raw material inventories, employment, supplier delivery times. A PMI reading above 50 indicates that the manufacturing economy is generally expanding; below 50 indicates that it is generally declining.
