General Introduction

Weihai is located at the eastern tip of the Shandong Peninsula. Weihai is connected by highways and railways to Shandong Province's major cities, such as Qingdao and Jinan.

The industry sector is the economic driver to the city, contributing 43% to the GDP in 2015. Its pillar industries are textiles, light industry, machinery, electronics and petrochemicals.

Weihai is a major city for tourism in China. Famous tourist attractions include Liugong Island, Chengshantou, Weihai International Bathing Beach and Swan Lake.
