General Introduction

Xiangyang is located in the northwestern part of the Hubei province. Two railways and the Han River cut through the city, making it easily accessible. Xiangyang is designated as a regional hub in MOFCOM’s development plan (2015-2020) of distributive trade and logistics.

Xiangyang's pillar industries include automobile, agricultural processing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, equipment manufacturing and electronics. With more than 180 auto parts manufacturers such as Dongfeng Industrial (Xiangfan) and Xiangfan Lutumei Auto Parts, Xiangyang has become one of the most important auto parts production bases in central China.

Tourism is an important pillar of the service sector. With a history of more than 2,800 years, it was approved as a National Historical Cultural City by the State Council in 1986. A number of 3A and 4A level attractions, including Longzhong Scenery Area, Nan River Three Gorges were located in Xiangyang.
