General Introduction

Anqing is a port city seated in the southwestern part of the Anhui Province. The Anqing Port is a major deep water port on the Yangtze River in Anhui.

The city is accessible by a comprehensive highway network. The Anqing Jingdezhen Highway, the Anqing Hefei Highway, the Shanghai Chengdu Highway, State Highway 105, State Highway 206 and State Highway 318 all intersect in the city.

Anqing Tianzhushan airport provides flight service to major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xiamen.

Anqing is an important production base of crops, cotton, oil plants and aquatic products in China. It is also rich in mineral resources, such as copper, iron ores, silver, lead and limestone.

Anqing has a rather big industry sector that accounted for 43% of the GDP in 2015. Pillar industries in the city are petrochemicals, agricultural product processing, textiles, chemicals, plastic products, equipment manufacturing, non-metal product manufacturing and transportation product manufacturing. Major products include textile yarns and cement.

Many large enterprises have set up production lines in Anqing. Examples include Anhui Huamao Group, Anhui Conch Cement Company, Anqing CSSC Diesel Engine, Anhui Shuguang Chemicals Group, and Anqing TP Goetze Liner Co. Ltd. While Anhui Conch Cement Company is the largest listed cement manufacturer and seller in China, Anqing TP Goetze Liner Co. Ltd which is a joint venture among Chinese, US and Japanese partners, is claimed to be the largest production base of petrol and diesel car cylinders in China.
