General Introduction

Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southeastern part of the Qinghai Province. Transportation in the prefecture mainly relies on the Xijiu Highway which is a provincial highway that runs through Golog and extends to the Sichuan Province.

Golog is rich in natural resources. While Golog is the largest forestry centre in Qinghai, it has rich hydropower resources to support nine stations that are currently operating in the prefecture.

Golog is also rich in mineral resources such as copper, cobalt, sulfur, cadmium, gold, silver, coal and limestone.

Copper mining is a major industry in Golog with Qinghai Weisite copper limited company (青海威斯特銅業有限責任公司) as one of the leading enterprises.
