Kaifeng, reputed as "The Capital of Seven Dynasties", is a renowned cultural and historical city in Henan. It lies in the eastern part of the Henan Province, along the southern bank of the Yellow River.
Kaifeng enjoys convenient transportation. Highways and regular trains from Kaifeng Railway Station connect the city with most major cities in China. Zhengzhou International Airport, merely 70km from the city, operates domestic and international flight services. Flights to Hong Kong and Bangkok are also available.
Industrial production accounted for 37% of the GDP in 2015. Pillar industries in the city include machinery, pharmaceuticals, raw chemicals and chemical products, textiles and agricultural products processing.
