General Introduction

Linxia is located in the mid-southwestern part of the Gansu province, at the upper reaches of the Yellow River.

Transportation in Linxia mainly relies on highways. Both the Lanzhou-Langmusi Highway and the Lintao-Xunhua Highway run through the city.

Linxia is rich in mineral resources, such as iron, manganese, chromium, lead, zinc and gold.

In 2015, the industrial sector accounted for 12% of the city's GDP. Electricity and chemicals are the pillar industries.

Service sector, the largest contributor to Linxia's economy, made up 62% of the GDP in 2015. Tourism is an important pillar of the service sector. Linxia has many mosques and temples as well as the beautiful mountain scenery of the Taizi Mountain nature reserve.
