Luliang is seated in the mid-western part of the Shanxi Province. It has a comprehensive highway and railway network that connects the city with other major cities in the Province, such as Taiyuan, Puzhou and Xiaoyi. Luliang Dawu Airport offers regular flights to Beijing and Changsha.
Luliang has a dominant industry sector that accounted for 55% of the GDP in 2015. Benefiting from rich mineral resources, particularly coal, iron and aluminium, coal mining and dressing, coking, metallurgy, electricity production and supply have been developed as major industries in the city. Equipment manufacturing and pharmaceuticals industries are merging in the city.
There are lots of leading industrial enterprises setting up in the city, such as Shanxi Xinghua Cun Fen Chiew Group, Shanxi Huaxin Coal Tar Industrial Group and Shanxi Liulin Coal Mining Group.
