Nujiang Autonomous Prefecture is located in the northwestern part of the Yunnan Province. Transportation in Nujiang mainly relies on roads that link Nujiang with other major cities in China.
Nujiang is rich in hydropower resources. Power generation capacity of the Nu River, Lancang River and Dulong River together account for some 20% of the province.
Nujiang has a large service sector that accounted for 53% of the GDP in 2015. Tourism is the most important pillar for the service sector. Nujiang River First Gulf, Moon Mountain Scenery Area, Dulong River, Tiger Valley, and Lanping Scenery Area are the famous tourist attractions in Nujiang.
