General Introduction

Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southern part of the Guizhou Province. It is easily accessible by highways and railways, which connect the prefecture with other major cities such as Guiyang, Nanning, Changsha and Guangzhou. Libo Airport, 8 km from the prefecture's downtown area, operates scheduled flights to domestic cities and some cities in southeastern Asian countries.

Benefiting from the abundance of mineral resources such as phosphate, coal, silicon, antimony, zinc, iron, crystal, opal, marble and diabase, an industry sector comprising metallurgy, building materials, electricity and coal mining has been developed. Other industries in the prefecture include machinery, tobacco, medicine, food processing and textiles. The industry sector accounted for 27% of the GDP in 2015.
