General Introduction

Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southwestern part of the Guizhou Province, at the intersection of Guizhou Province, Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is easily accessible by highways and railways. Xingyi Airport, 8 km from the prefecture's downtown area, operates scheduled flights to domestic cities and some cities in southeastern Asian countries.

Qianxinan is rich in mineral resources, such as coal, oil, natural gas, gold, antimony, thallium, lead, zinc, iron, molybdenum, and marble. It has proven reserves of gold estimated at 208 tons.

Benefiting from its rich mineral resources, ferroalloy manufacturing, coal mining, electricity, gold mining, cement manufacturing are major industries in the city. Other pillar industries include chemicals and liquor manufacturing. The industry sector accounted for 28% of the GDP in 2015.

Tourism is the most important pillar of the service sector.
