General Introduction

Located at the southern tip of Hainan Island, Sanya is the nation's southernmost city. As Sanya has the most beautiful beaches and coastal scenery in Hainan, it has been dubbed the 'Oriental Hawaii'.

Sanya is famous for tourism which contritutes a significant part to the city’s service sector. The Sanya Yalong Bay National Holiday Resort is the only state-level tropical holiday resort in China, which is well known for its upscale hotels.

Due to Sanya's well-developed tourism facilities, several national and global institutions have chosen Sanya as the ideal location to hold events such as golf championships, the Hercules championships, modeling competitions and film festivals. It has been dubbed the 'China's Top 10 Charming City' and 'National Excellence in Tourism'.
