Suzhou lies in the northern part of the Anhui Province. It is accessible by the Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway.
Suzhou is an agricultural base in the province. Major products include wheat, corn, vegetable and fruit. Agriculture accounted for 22% of the GDP in 2015.
While Suzhou’s rich agricultural produce helps the development of agricultural product processing and food manufacturing. The city’s abundant reserves in coal, oil, coal bed gas and marble also provide stable energy and resource supply to the development of its coal mining and dressing, wood processing, chemicals and energy supply industries. Industry accounted for 32% of the GDP in 2015.
