General Introduction

Taizhou is situated in the coastal area of eastern Zhejiang Province.

Taizhou has a well-established transportation network. Apart from numerous highways and railways, the Taizhou Luqiao Airport offers regular flights to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi'an and other domestic cities.

The city is rich in power resources. Taizhou Power and Jiangxia Tidal Power Plant, the largest tidal power plant in China, are located in Taizhou.

Industry accounted for 38% of the GDP in 2015. Transportation equipment manufacturing, machinery, plastic products, metallurgy, and electric power supply and production are the major industries in the city. Leading enterprise is Zhejiang Yongtai Technology Co., Ltd which is listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Tourism is an important service industry of Taizhou. The South China Great Wall, Tiantai Mountain Scenic Spot and Xianju National Scenic Area are the major tourist attractions.
