Tianjin Balitai IP is located between Tianjin’s downtown and Binhai New District adjacent to Xiqingwei Electronic Industrial Park and Dagang Petrochemical Base. It is 15 km from the city’s downtown, 20 km from Tianjin Binhai International Airport, 25 km from Tianjin Port, and 10 km from Binhai New District.

Tianjin Port is a major cargo port. Cargo from Beijing and North and Northwest China has to be loaded in Tianjin Port to be delivered to other coastal regions of China and to other countries. In 2011, the port’s cargo throughput reached 451 million tons, ranking third in China after Shanghai and Ningbo.

Binhai Airport is located 10 km from Tianjin’s downtown area. In 2011, its cargo throughput reached 182,857 tons, ranking 12th in China.

The IP is close to several expressways, including the Tianjin-Shantou Expressway, the Tianjin-Shanghai Expressway, the Weihai-Wuhai Expressway, the Tianjin-Taiyuan Expressway and the Dandong-Lhasa Expressway. There are also rail links to the Beijing- Shanghai Railway and the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, two major arteries of China.
