General Introduction

Yangjiang is a coastal city in the southwestern part of Guangdong Province. The convenient highway and railway network connects Yangjiang with other major cities in Guangdong. The Yangjiang Heshan Airport provides regular flight service to domestic cities.

Yangjiang Port, a national Grade 1 port, serves as a significant regional port in the Guangdong Province.

Rapid economic development in recent years is mainly driven by the industry sector, which accounted for 41% of the GDP in 2015. Energy, food and agricultural processing, and metalwork are major industries in the city. Leading enterprises in the city include Yangjiang Shibazi Group, Guangdong Strong Group, Yangjiang Hongda Steel & Iron and Yangjiang Nanfang Brothers Industrial.

Service sector accounted for 39% of the city’s GDP in 2015. Services has good development potential as Yangjiang has rich tourism resources, which include beach resorts in the Hailing Island, the Guangdong Maritime Silkroad Museum and Mawei Mountain.
