In addition to being subject to the standard commodity inspections, some goods – including certain edible oils – need to have secured a licence prior to being imported to China. According to the recently-published Catalogue of Goods Subject to Automatic Import Licence Administration, vegetable oils require such a licence, which can be obtained from either the local commerce authority or the Ministry of Commerce.
