Enquiry: Can Those Who Learned Traditional Chinese Medicine Through an Apprenticeship Scheme Register to Practise on the Mainland?
In line with the interim measures issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, any individual who has either studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as part of a master/apprentice scheme or has accumulated a high level of expertise in the sector following a number of years in active practice may apply to take the mainland’s Physician Qualification Examination, as administered by the presiding provincial department. Successful candidates will then be awarded the TCM (Special Skills) Physician Certificate and be entitled to register and practise as a properly accredited medical professional.
