Q: Can milk products such as milk, yogurt and cheese produced in Hong Kong be imported into Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou and what is the tax rate?

A: 1. Milk products produced in Hong Kong can be exported to the Chinese mainland.

2. Under the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), Hong Kong-produced products can be exported to the mainland tariff-free after obtaining the certificate of origin issued by designated government agencies. However, a 17% VAT applies. Please check the detailed rules of origin issued by Trade and Industry Department.
