Q: What is Meant by 3C Certification?

A: 3C certification stands for "China Compulsory Certification", or CCC.

The "compulsory certification" system is a system of product conformity assessment implemented by the Chinese government in accordance with law to protect the personal safety of consumers as well as national security and to strengthen product quality control. It requires that specified products must comply with China's national standards and technical regulations.

Compulsory product certification undertakes compulsory testing and audit of products by formulating a Compulsory Product Certification Catalogue and implementing the prescribed certification procedures. Products listed in the Catalogue may not be imported, sold or used in places of business or services without the certificates issued by the designated certification authority and without affixing the certification mark according to regulations. The Catalogue currently covers 149 products under 22 categories. Please read the Catalogue for details (in Chinese).
