Q: Where to Get Documents Notarised for Use in Setting up a Company in China?

A: Documents required for setting up business on the Chinese mainland must be notarised by professionals recognised by the Chinese mainland authorities. Hong Kong companies may seek attestation from members of the Association of China-Appointed Attesting Officers Ltd (CAAO).

Members of this association must be qualified Hong Kong lawyers under the Legal Practitioners Ordinance (Cap 159) and appointed by China’s Ministry of Justice as attesting officers. For details, please visit CAAO.
