China Deploys Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Drive to Boost IP Protection
China is to utilise internet plus technology as a means of boosting intellectual property (IP) protection. This will see Big Data, artificial intelligence and a number of other information technologies geared to online-recognition, real-time monitoring and source-tracing deployed to counter IP infringements on a national basis.
The initiative, outlined in the State Intellectual Property Office’s Working Plan on Intellectual Property (IP) Protection with Internet Plus Technology, is intended to usher in a complete overhaul of the entire IP law enforcement and rights protection guidance and management system by 2020. In line with this, priority is to be given to the development of a comprehensive, IP-related products and services database.
