China Updates Dangerous Drug and Chemicals Import/Export Regulations
New regulations with regard to the import/export of dangerous drugs and any substance deemed to be a potential component of a chemical weapon came into effect as of 1 January this year.
In more specific terms, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and General Administration of Customs (GAC) jointly-issued an updated edition of the Catalogue of Dual-Use Items and Technologies Subject to Import and Export Licence Administration, which covers any material that could potentially be used in the production of a chemical weapon, as well as a number of drugs previously deemed to be dangerous.
The revised catalogue supersedes all previous editions.
