Mainland Cross-Border E-Commerce Operators Given 31 March Registration Deadline
Cross-border e-commerce payment and logistics companies must be certified and registered with the customs authority by the end of March this year.
The updated rules were announced by the General Administration of Customs (GAC), with the specific requirements including:
- Cross-border e-commerce payment and logistics companies must obtain the necessary qualification certificate in accordance with the provisions listed in GAC Announcement No.194 (2018), and must submit the qualification certificate when completing registration with the customs authority
- All cross-border e-commerce logistics enterprises, as well as e-marketplace operators and payment enterprises engaging in cross-border e-commerce import business, that had only completed their customs information registration prior to 1 January 2019, must now complete the required customs registration procedures or submit their qualification certificate before 31 March 2019.
These amended regulations came into effect as of 1 January 2019.
