Operating Licence Now Obligatory for the Sale of All Loose Foods in Guangdong
Any Guangdong-based business selling loose foods by weight is now obliged to secure the relevant operating licence. The requirement, which came into effect as of 1 September this year, was outlined in the recently-published Operating and Management Standards of the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration for Loose Foods and will remain in force for the next five years. The Standards also specify several other requirements relating to the sale of loose foods, including approved business locations, storage procedures for all such foodstuffs, as well as any required equipment, obligations with regard to the clear marking of dates of production/best before dates and several other related matters.
