China-Bangladesh Joint Statement on Establishing a Strategic Partnership of Co-operation

At the invitation of President Md. Abdul Hamid, Xi Jinping, the President of China, paid a state visit to Bangladesh between 14-15 October. During the course of his stay, the two sides signed documents of co-operation related to a number of areas, including the Belt and Road Initiative, industrial capacity, energy, information and communications, investment, maritime affairs, the prevention and alleviation of disasters, as well as several cultural and humanitarian issues. The two sides also agreed to enhance the alignment of the development strategies of the two countries, fully tap the potential of co-operation in a number of areas and advance Belt and Road related construction in order to realise the sustainable development and common prosperity of the two countries.
